As a buyer you are responsible for processing the product groups/commodities assigned to you within the region/division. You will work for all projects in the organization and form the interface between the business, the global lead buyers and the Domain. You will procure using professional purchasing practices and techniques and ensure parts, services and goods availability through the production process while maintaining overall cost at the lowest level and highest quality. You will maintain daily contact with suppliers and ensure supplier quality and on-time-delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Support the definition of material prices for Commodity Groups
- Contribute to the identification of material requirements, estimate the justified costs, provide the material procurement costs, prepare requests for offers to suppliers, compile contract packages in particular for variation orders, assess opportunities and risks in procurement and define the final parts lists for their responsible product groups, Verification of implementations and documentation
- Documentation according to standards and project requirements
- Support verification, assessment and homologation
- Manage contracts for risk management, claims, conflict resolutions, feedback and input into bids from lessons learnt.
- Develop long term supplier relationships through regular performance reviews and continually drive cost improvements.
- Be responsible for delivering cost reduction targets and participate in Design2cost initiatives.
- Collaborate with other functions to ensure project success by representing Procurement at meetings and work autonomously to resolve problems, but bring to management’s attention if required
Education
- Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement or Business degree
Specialized or cross-functional knowledge / relevant experience required by the position/role
- Operational and/or Maintenance knowledge/experience
- Maximo & SAP exposure is an asset
- Continuous Improvement (CI) experience would be beneficial
